[Bug] Version 4.7 Performance and Reliability Regression

Bug Description
4.7 is a major, lazy and unreliable regression. this is absolutely not an improvement over 4.6 which was actually good. stop mutilating it if you can't improve it. bring back 4.6 and call it a day.
