Terminal Resize Handling Causes Cursor IDE Crash or Stuck Narrow Text Width

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Aug 8, 2025 by tomdowdell Closed Aug 15, 2025

Bug Description
I run claude code in a terminal. actually several terminals within cursor ide. terminals are right -- not bottom -- aligned. very nice because the terminal "tabs" are a vertical stack, with the current select contents directly to left.

if claude is generating output to the window and I resize the width of terminal window (not the tabbed section) cursor sometimes faults and exits.

secondly, if cursor app window changes, e.g. switching from sleep to awake, changing from laptop to monitor, the claude text stays narrow if result widens pane. So e.g. if orig text width was 40 chars but is now able to be 60 it stays 40. Adding input will correct for subsequent but not previous content.

I'm running on macbook pro, latest everything.
