[FEATURE] Dark theme redesign: High-contrast black/white reduces readability + request for color customization

Problem Statement
The recent dark theme update has made the UI significantly harder to read. The new pure black backgrounds with pure white text creates excessive contrast that's fatiguing for extended use. This feels like a regression from the previous version, which used softer, layered grays that were much easier on the eyes.
The current design appears to follow ChatGPT's style, but that doesn't mean it's appropriate for Claude. The previous color scheme struck a better balance between contrast and readability.
Proposed Solution
- Restore previous colors: Revert to the softer gray backgrounds and text colors from before the redesign, or at minimum provide an option to switch back to them.
- Add color customization: Implement user-customizable theme colors (similar to VS Code or other editors) so users can adjust:
- Background color
- Text/foreground color
- Accent colors
- Contrast levels
This would allow users to tailor the theme to their preferences and accessibility needs without waiting for design changes.
Please reconsider this direction. Readability and user customization should be priorities.
