- [x] This is a single bug report

What's Wrong?
Cowork crashes with "Claude Code process exited with code 1" on every prompt submission. Chat mode works fine. Only Cowork is affected.
Environment
- macOS Tahoe 26.3
- Claude Desktop (latest version)
- Hardware: MacBook Air
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Claude Desktop
- Navigate to Cowork
- Type any prompt and submit
- Error appears: "Claude Code process exited with code 1"
Expected Behavior
Cowork should respond to the prompt normally.
Actual Behavior
Process crashes immediately with exit code 1. No response is returned.
Troubleshooting Already Attempted
- Verified Claude is listed and enabled under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording
- Ran
tccutil reset All com.anthropic.claudefordesktop— returned success, re-granted permission, issue persists - Confirmed Claude Desktop is on the latest version
Additional Context
This appears related to issues #33424 and #36419 (macOS Tahoe + Cowork crashes). Chat mode is fully functional — only Cowork is broken.
