It is happening all the time here now.
Claude Code 2.1.49 as a VS Code extension.
Windows 11 ARM.
Same here. Several times today. Seems to pick up quite well if you just give some input like "continue".

I am experiencing the same. Latest version of the VS Code extension. Windows 11 Snapdragon(R) X 12-core X1E80100 @ 3.40 GHz (3.42 GHz)
I looks stable this morning, 1h so far without the error.
Since yesterday, I have been experiencing regular crashes again.
This is happening everyday for me. Eventually after a few hours it goes away, always seems to be around the same time
You need to install Visual C++ redistributable.
I tested on 2 PC's windows 10 and issue got resolved immediately.
@k-dzikowski Do the Windows machines that you tested this on have ARM processors?
No, core I7, x86-64, I installed fresh system yesterday and extension on both and got this error. At the same time I installed on another machine, same architecture but Win11 and problem didn't happen. Installing Visual C++ redistributable fixed the problem immediately and instantly without restarting VS code even
