Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I’m on Windows 11 Pro 25H2 (64 bit) and Claude Desktop version 1.2773.0.0. When I launch the app, it starts as a background process in Task Manager but no window ever appears. I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version, with no change.

What Should Happen?

Claude Desktop should launch and display the main application window when I double-click the executable or launch it from the Start menu.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install Claude Desktop on Windows 11 Pro 25H2 (64 bit).
  2. Launch Claude Desktop (from the Start menu or by double clicking the app shortcut).
  3. Observe that no window appears, but Claude is running as a background process in Task Manager.
  4. (Optional) End the background process in Task Manager, then relaunch - the same behavior repeats.
  5. (Optional) Uninstall and reinstall the latest version - the same behavior repeats.
