/usage command broken for Claude Pro subscribers — shows 'only available for subscription plans'

Description

The /usage command previously worked for Claude Pro subscribers, displaying current session usage. It now shows an error message stating it is "only available for subscription plans" — despite the user being a Claude Pro subscriber.

The error message is also confusing/contradictory: it implies you need a subscription to use the feature, but Pro subscribers are seeing it too.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in to Claude Code with a Claude Pro subscription (not an API key)
  2. Run /usage
  3. Observe the error dialog

Expected Behavior

/usage displays current session usage, as it did previously.

Actual Behavior

An error dialog appears stating the command is "only available for subscription plans", then dismisses. No usage information is shown.

Environment

  • Claude Code version: 2.1.104
  • Platform: Windows 10
  • Auth method: Claude Pro subscription (OAuth login, not API key)
