Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Sometimes in a coding session Claude overtly mentions "the user" as in "the user correctly pointed out that UnicodeError is more succinct than using (UnicodeEncodeError, UnicodeDecodeError)". It happened 3 times over the past week. I can see it occurring in its internal storage, but showing up on the screen it looks like a slur, particularly because he already knows my name and could just use that.

What Should Happen?

Claude should refer to coder by his name rather than "the user".
