Problem Statement

Bug: When opening a project via terminal (cd /path/to/project && claude), the project does not automatically appear in the left sidebar of the Claude Code macOS desktop app. Restarting the app does not help
either.

Feature request: Add a "New Project" button in the macOS desktop app sidebar that allows users to select a project folder directly from the UI — without needing to use the terminal.
