[BUG] Push-to-talk broken - cuts off after 2-5 words (MacOS Desktop + Terminal)
Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Apr 10, 2026 by aikibobo Closed Apr 13, 2026
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
- Push-to-talk cuts out after 2-5 words
- Processes partial audio mid-hold (and stops listening)
- Starts listening again after ~5 missed words; after which cycle restarts
- Both desktop app (macOS) and terminal
- Tested 3 mic setups, Siri works fine (rules out mic/system issue)
What Should Happen?
Should be able to dictate continuously while key pushed, at least 10 sentences.

Steps to Reproduce
Other complaints seem to be around toggle-to-talk and beginning cutoffs; so pretty sure most people are not experiencing this bug. I wouldn't know how to reproduce.
