[BUG] Silent failure on MacOS when /desktop transfers session to TCC-protected directory

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Apr 8, 2026 by nuschpl Closed Apr 12, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

In some sessions Claude Desktop Code silently ignores user prompts after previousle transfer from claude in terminal via /desktop

Fix: granting Full Disk Access for claude in System Settings/Privacy... resolves it.
macOS: 26.3.1

What Should Happen?

  1. Error message like "Cannot access working directory/specific file. Grant Full Disk Access to Claude in System Settings."
  2. Unit test scenarios detecting such permission issues

Error Messages/Logs

No single error/indicator that's something is wrong under the hood.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Start claude in iTerm2 (which has FDA) from ~/Documents/...
  2. Work on files (rename, etc) by prompting claude
  3. /desktop to transfer session to Claude Desktop (no FDA)
  4. All prompts produce zero output — no error, no thinking indicator

Claude Model

Not sure / Multiple models

Is this a regression?
