[BUG] Code tab shows no response to messages — Chat tab works fine on Windows

What's Wrong?

In the Code tab of Claude Desktop, I type a message and it shows up but there is no response and no loading indicator. This happens in every new session. The Chat tab works perfectly fine.

What I tried:

  • Full clean reinstall (removed AppX package, deleted all leftover Claude folders, reinstalled as Administrator)
  • Signed out and back in
  • Tried multiple new sessions

Environment:

  • Windows
  • Latest version of Claude Desktop (just installed today)

What Should Happen?

After typing a message in the Code tab, Claude should respond normally just like it does in the Chat tab.

  1. Open Claude Desktop
  2. Click the Code tab
  3. Start a new session
  4. Type any message and press Enter
  5. Message appears but no response or loading indicator is shown — Code tab stays silent indefinitely

N/A — using Claude Desktop app Code tab, not a terminal

This is a recent regression. Claude Code was working in the Desktop app as recently as Thursday April 3rd. It broke sometime between then and now.
