[BUG] Billing: 5 unauthorized "Gift Max 5X" charges — A$852.50 — Invoice WAVXEFQJ-0003 to 0007

What's Wrong?

Between 29–30 March 2026, five invoices were generated on my account
under "Gift Max 5X - 1 months" totalling A$852.50. I did not initiate
any of these gift purchases.

Invoice numbers:

• 29 Mar 2026 — A$170.50
• 29 Mar 2026 — A$170.50
• 29 Mar 2026 — A$170.50
• 30 Mar 2026 — A$170.50
• 30 Mar 2026 — A$170.50

All five currently show "Partially Refunded" in my billing portal —
no full refunds issued and no human response from support in 7 days.

I had Claude in Chrome (Beta) connected at the time, which I have
since removed.

This is a known systemic bug. Other users have reported identical
issues — consecutive unauthorised Gift charges processed automatically,
including Trustpilot reviews documenting the same pattern in March 2026.

Support ticket opened 7 days ago. Only automated bot responses received.
No human follow-up despite escalation emails to support@anthropic.com.

What Should Happen?

No gift subscriptions should be generated or charged without explicit user-initiated purchase.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Have Claude Max 5X subscription active with saved payment method
2. Have Claude in Chrome (Beta) connector connected
3. No user action taken — charges appeared automatically
4. Five "Gift Max 5X" invoices generated without any purchase initiated

This is a billing bug, not a Claude Code bug. Raising here because support@anthropic.com has not responded in 7 days despite multiple tickets. Five unauthorized "Gift Max 5X" invoices were charged to my saved Mastercard totalling A$852.50 between 29–30 March 2026. This is a known systemic issue — other users have reported identical unauthorized Gift charges in March 2026 on Trustpilot. Full details in the issue description above.
