Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Anytime I want to start a cowork in the desktop app, I get this error. I try to delete the virtual machine in application support. The problem is that the path from a computer doesn't exist. It looks like some strange mount path that just is not there on the mount. Everything, apart from the mount, when you remove the first bit, actually exists ("/Users/dictator/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude-code-vm/2.1.87/.verified"). The.verify file is in there; it's just that you would have to strip this bit out of the URL "/mnt/.virtiofs-root/shared".

What Should Happen?

Co-work should launch.

Error Messages/Logs

Failed to start Claude's workspace
RPC error: SDK version 2.1.87 not verified at /mnt/.virtiofs-root/shared/Users/dictator/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude-code-vm/2.1.87/.verified
Restarting Claude or your computer sometimes resolves this. If it persists, you can reinstall the workspace.

Steps to Reproduce

Just launched the app on my Mac Mini M4 with the latest Mac OS and tried to launch co-work for the first time. Try to reinstall it; just keeps reinstalling if I delete stuff, reinstall everything from scratch every single time I get this strange message.
