Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Cowork shows "Virtualization is not available" on Windows 10 Pro despite all prerequisites being enabled.
The Cowork tab displays: "Claude's workspace requires the virtual machine platform, but the virtualization service is not responding. Restart your computer to fix this problem."
Restarting does not fix the issue.
Steps already taken (none resolved the issue):

Enabled Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, and Windows Hypervisor Platform via PowerShell (admin)
Ran bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto
Confirmed CoworkVMService is Running
Confirmed virtualization is active: systeminfo shows "Extensions de mode du moniteur d'ordinateur virtuel: Oui"
Fully uninstalled Claude Desktop, deleted %APPDATA%\Claude, reinstalled as Administrator
Restarted PC multiple times
The vm_bundles folder never gets created → VM never downloads or initializes

Environment:

OS: Windows 10 Professionnel (activated with digital license)
Claude Desktop: latest version from claude.ai/download
Subscription: Pro
CoworkVMService: Running
Hyper-V: Enabled
Virtual Machine Platform: Enabled
Windows Hypervisor Platform: Enabled

What Should Happen?

Cowork initializes the VM and becomes usable.
Actual: VM never starts. Error persists after every restart and reinstall.
