Memory spikes in Claude Code v1.0.60
Bug Description
Since updating to Claude Code version 1.0.60, I'm experiencing significant system memory spikes that were not present in previous versions. The memory usage appears to grow substantially during operation and doesn't seem to be properly released.
Version Information
- Claude Code Version: 1.0.60
- Operating System: Linux Ubuntu
Expected Behavior
Memory usage should remain stable and consistent with previous versions of Claude Code, with proper garbage collection and memory management.
Actual Behavior
- Noticeable memory spikes during Claude Code operation
- System performance degradation
- Memory usage that appears excessive compared to v1.0.59 and earlier
Steps to Reproduce
- Launch Claude Code v1.0.60
- [Add specific actions you were performing when spikes occurred]
- Monitor system memory usage via Task Manager/Activity Monitor
- Observe memory spikes
Additional Context
- This issue was not present in previous versions of Claude Code
- The memory spikes appear to correlate directly with the v1.0.60 update
- Any general chat with claude code will trigger the intermittent memory spikes
