[BUG] 2.1.78 breaks previously working notifications in iterm2 + tmux

What's Wrong?
In 2.1.78+, notifications don't work in my setup (iterm2 + tmux). They do work in 2.1.77 and below.
Instead, i see notification text appear the bottom of the terminal (which corrupts the termianl output)

Notifications should appear

Steps to Reproduce
- Use iterm2 with all notification settings enabled correctly
- tmux -CC
tmux set -g allow-passthrough all(if on newer tmux)- launch claude
- wait for claude to notify you
