Bug Description

After reinstalling Claude Desktop on macOS, clicking the Code tab still displays Cowork information instead of the Code interface. Additionally, Cowork is not responding — it appears stuck/frozen with no output.

Reinstalling the app did not resolve the issue. Clearing Electron caches (Session Storage, Local Storage, IndexedDB, Cache, Code Cache, GPUCache) and relaunching is being tested as a workaround.

Environment

  • App version: 1.1.9493
  • OS: macOS Sequoia (Darwin 25.4.0), Apple Silicon
  • Claude Code CLI version: 2.1.87 (bundled)

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Desktop (v1.1.9493)
  2. Click the Code tab in the top navigation
  3. Observe that Cowork content/UI is displayed instead of the Code interface
  4. Cowork itself is unresponsive — no output, appears frozen

Expected Behavior

  • Code tab should show the Claude Code interface (terminal-style agentic coding environment)
  • Cowork should be responsive when accessed through its own tab

What I've Tried

  • Fully quit and restarted the app
  • Reinstalled Claude Desktop from scratch
  • Cleared Electron session/cache data (Session Storage, Local Storage, IndexedDB, Cache, etc.)
