I asked Claude:

Claude is it possible to stop you auto-scrolling to the bottom of this chat window when you add content to it? I want to scroll up and read what we've talked about previously but your updates shoot me up to the very top of the chat history :(

He said no, not that he's aware of.

Allow the user to scroll through the history as claude works on the latest task and appends content to the bottom of the chat
