VS Code: Claude Code panel cannot be moved to side bar or resized wider

Problem
The Claude Code panel in VS Code opens in the bottom panel area and cannot be made wider. The bottom panel already spans the full window width, but the chat text wraps heavily, making it difficult to read responses.
There is no way to:
- Move the Claude Code view to the Secondary Side Bar (right-click on the panel tab does not offer this option)
- Drag the Claude Code tab to a different location (not draggable)
- Open Claude Code as a resizable editor tab in the main editor area
- Adjust the width of the chat content area
The only right-click options available on the Claude Code icon are: Configure Keybinding, Hide 'Claude Code: Open', Claude Code: Open, Split Editor Right — none of which help with resizing.
Expected behavior
Users should be able to move the Claude Code panel to the Secondary Side Bar or open it as a full editor tab, similar to how other VS Code extensions (e.g., GitHub Copilot Chat) allow their views to be repositioned.
Environment
- VS Code on Windows 11
- Claude Code VS Code extension
