[BUG]

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When attempting to run claude code, uploading images to the terminal via drag and drop appear to cause the session to hang. Specific error is Unable to connect to API (ECONNRESET). Once this occurs, there seems to be no reliable way to get claude to respond again, in this session or others.

I have attempted to reset my local router, pinged the anthropic API to validate connection, and purged the claude cache and memory settings. This does allow new conversations to occur, but only with text. Once an image is uploaded, it again freezes and fails to function.

What Should Happen?

In all previous builds I used, I would be able to quickly screenshot an issue and drag it to the terminal window for claude to process and work with in debugging. Now it totally fails and bricks the conversation

Error Messages/Logs

Unable to connect to API (ECONNRESET)

Steps to Reproduce

Take a screenshot and drag the image to the terminal window. It should upload, but once you hit enter, it will spin for several minutes until eventually throwing the ECONNRESET error
