[BUG] March 2026 off-peak promotion not applying — weekend usage counting toward weekly limits (Max 20x)

Description

I'm on the Max 20x plan ($200/month). According to the March 2026 usage promotion, off-peak usage — which includes all weekends — should be:

1. Doubled (2× the normal 5-hour window limit)
2. Not counted toward weekly usage limits

However, this weekend (March 21–22, 2026), neither of these appear to be working correctly.

What I observed

• Weekend Claude Code usage is counting toward my weekly limit
• I am not receiving the 2× off-peak boost during weekend hours
• My usage this week has been heavy (~200M+ tokens/day across multiple sessions), and the weekly limit appears to be depleting as if no promotion is active

Environment

• Plan: Max 20x ($200/month)
• Location: UTC+8 (Malaysia) — the vast majority of my usage falls within off-peak hours (off-peak = outside 8AM–2PM ET weekdays = outside 8PM–2AM MYT)
• Platform: macOS, Claude Code CLI
• Usage data (past 7 days, from local session logs):

Expected behavior

Per the promotion article:

• Weekend usage should get 2× the 5-hour window limit
• Weekend usage should not count toward weekly limits
• Promotion runs March 13–28, 2026

Actual behavior

• Weekly limit depleting as if promotion is not active
• No observable difference between weekday and weekend usage caps

Questions

1. Is the promotion still active through March 28 as stated?
2. Is there a known issue with off-peak/weekend usage incorrectly counting toward weekly limits?
3. Does the promotion apply to Claude Code on Max plans?
