[FEATURE] Multi-account switching in Claude Mobile app without shared email
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
- [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)
Problem Statement
The Claude mobile app (iOS/Android) has no way to switch between multiple accounts that use different email addresses without fully signing out and back in. The built-in account switcher only works when both accounts share the same email.
Many users have both a personal (Pro/Max) subscription and a company (Team/Enterprise) subscription tied to different email addresses. Switching between them on mobile requires a full sign-out/sign-in cycle each time, which is disruptive and time-consuming.
This is the same pain point described in #18435 for the Desktop app, but applies to the mobile app specifically.
Proposed Solution
Add native multi-account support to the Claude mobile app, allowing users to be signed into multiple accounts (even with different emails) and switch between them from the profile/initials menu — without losing context or requiring re-authentication.
Alternative Solutions
Workarounds
Using the Claude mobile app for one account and claude.ai in a mobile browser for the other
Or signing out and back in each time not getting notified
Priority
Medium - Would be very helpful

+1 on this. I run Claude Code locally on my work machine (Team plan) and use the Claude iOS app for my personal Pro subscription. With Remote Control now available, I'd love to control my local sessions from my phone — but I can't without logging out of my personal account and back into my work account every time.
The browser workaround (claude.ai in browser for work, native app for personal) works but it's clunky. Native multi-account switching on mobile would make Remote Control actually usable for anyone who keeps work and personal accounts separate.
yes to this
+1 here. It would be super useful now with remote control and dispatch.
+1, I maintain separate personal Max and Team accounts on different emails and need seamless switching on iOS
+1, want to handle business account and my private account of claude on the mobile app.
This would be amazing. I constantly use both my personal and work subs
+1, would be fantastic to have this
Please add this!! Especially now with DISPATCH I would love to be able to fire off different requests to different accounts/orgs!
+1 with everyone else on this. If we can switch between signed in email account through the initial's menu top right, this would solve all the context break issues we're experiencing when having to log out and in again between work and personal accounts, as well as making remote control much more usable.
The other alternative is creating a new personal account with my work email, but then I'd lose all the history and built-up context, conversations and projects on my personal account.
+1 really important feature
Yes! +1
Please
as everyone else said, this would be super userful. I use Claude for both work and home, I want to use dispatch but I need an easy way to switch back and forth between my accounts on my iPhone without logging in and out.
+1 as most have mentioned, being able to switch between work and personal accounts is necessary
I have a personal Pro subscription and a separate work Team account on different email addresses. I use Claude heavily on mobile throughout my day for both, and right now switching means a full sign-out/sign-in cycle every time.
On desktop this is annoying but workable (separate browser profiles). On mobile there's no equivalent workaround. I can't run two instances of the app. The friction means I just don't switch when I should, which either means I'm doing work stuff on my personal account (messy for IP reasons) or skipping Claude entirely and using something worse for the task.
A simple account toggle (like Slack's workspace switcher) would fix this completely.

Would be a big help to keep work account (and it's associated tasks) separated from personal things.

Let me easily use Claude between personal and work pleaaaaase.

+10 plz
I'm just not using my personal account much because it's too annoying to switch.
+1 - would be a huge time saver
I think that Anthropic should encourage people to have a personal account in addition to their work account. Not having this feature is the main blocker for that. I'm sure that the ROI for this feature will be in top-10 between all features released for claude that are not the models.

I have a work account and a personal account.

+1. Most people has personal accounts and also company team accounts.
would really love this!
Must have
This has to be one of the most requested features. Huge +1
+1 really really need!
PLEASE! Our company is switching from ChatGPT to Claude, so now my personal account (Claude) will become hard to use/access without this!

Why haven't they considered this yet?? My work changed domain, I have SO MANY things connected. I want to cry at the thought of a new account.
Adding my voice to this request as someone with a very common real-world use case that this feature would directly solve.
I maintain a personal Claude Pro subscription on my personal email address for individual/contractor work, and I'm in the process of setting up a Claude Team plan for my organization (Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters) under my organizational email address. The two accounts are intentionally separate, different billing, different data, different contexts and that separation is by design and appropriate.
The problem is that I work out of both accounts regularly throughout the day. On the web I can work around it with separate browser profiles, but that's a friction-heavy workaround for what should be a first-class feature. On mobile it's a full sign-out/sign-in cycle every time I need to switch, which makes the mobile app essentially unusable for anyone managing both a personal and an organizational account.
The use case here isn't niche, anyone who is both an individual Claude subscriber AND a member of a Claude Team or Enterprise workspace with a different email address hits this wall. That's an increasingly common scenario as Team plan adoption grows.
Slack, Discord, and Chrome all handle this natively with a clean account switcher. Claude's existing switcher is a great foundation, it just needs to extend to accounts on different email addresses rather than requiring a shared email. A simple dropdown showing all authenticated accounts with a one-click switch (no re-authentication required) would completely resolve this.
Happy to provide additional detail on the use case if helpful. Thanks for tracking this.
Same here, personal account and work account
+1
+1 on this. I have a personal Max account and an Enterprise seat on different emails, and the sign-out/sign-in cycle on mobile means I just end up not using Claude on my phone for one of the two contexts. The Slack-style account switcher pattern would solve it!
+1
Need this to keep personal account and work account
This is an essential feature to remove friction from users who want to be more proactive about AI use at work and stay compliant with AI policies. Especially with the "Interactive Apps" release, Claude will continue to replace meaningful portions of our SaaS stack which will increase usage across our org and increase revenue for Anthropic - but I'm not going to be signing in and out of my personal and work accounts on my phone.
I’m a paying customer on both sides of this gap:
• Team Premium seat through my employer for daily Claude Code work across multiple repos and customer engagements
• Personal Max 5x for independent consulting and personal projects, deliberately kept separate for IP and compliance reasons
Two different emails, so the same-email account switcher doesn’t help me.
Remote Control is genuinely useful, but on mobile I can only see whichever account is currently signed in. Switching means full sign-out / sign-in, losing push notification continuity, and re-authenticating MFA every time. In practice I just don’t check the other account from my phone, which defeats the point.
Worth flagging: keeping work and personal on separate accounts isn’t a preference, it’s the right answer for data handling — Commercial Terms vs Consumer Terms, training defaults, DPA coverage, employer IP policy. Anthropic’s own guidance pushes toward this separation. The mobile app should support the workflow Anthropic recommends.
Native multi-account support like Slack workspaces would solve it — tap the profile, see both accounts, switch in one tap, each maintaining its own chats, memory, push routing, and Remote Control sessions. A per-account accent color or badge would help visually too.
Happy to be a tester if this gets prioritized.
Definitely would love this feature.
Another +1. smae device used for personal and business accounts. I use it in both contexts frequently thorughout the day so logging out and logging in between accounts is a barrier for me and prevents me from using it professinoally on the go.

Seems crazy that you can't do this. I've actually considered moving to ChatGPT for personal just because this is so painful.

I am using Claude at work (Teams plan) and have a personal account too, both are paid. It would really be helpful to have a switch in the iOS app to check on the work agents, and use the personal account chats from the same app.
I have a personal and business plan. It would be great to be working through things on my phone when I'm on the go, especially when I'm thinking instead of using my person
Plus 1 on this!
adding request for this
Count me in for this request. Would be handy.
Plus one, so we can do one personal and one work email
For developers using Claude Code CLI on the same machine as the mobile app, the CLI side of the multi-account pain has an operator-side bridge that shipped this week. It doesn't solve the mobile UX (mobile is a separate platform and needs the fix this issue is asking for), but for the cohort that switches CLI accounts often, two new MIT-licensed hooks in cc-safe-setup catch the "wrong account loaded" failure at session start:
account-routing-preflight.sh(SessionStart) — refuses the session withexit 2whenANTHROPIC_ACCOUNT_LABELdoesn't match.claude/expected-accountfor the project.account-billing-log.sh(Stop) — per-session billing log for invoicing or audit.Field guide for the five-pattern operator-side workaround: https://gist.github.com/yurukusa/d880ecc984af5d664f003daf85f956e3
Cluster context: this issue + #18435 + #27302 = ~1,178 cumulative reactions across desktop, web, and mobile. The signal seems large enough to warrant prioritization at the platform level.

Same use case as described in problem statement. I have a Pro account for personal on my phone (Android) and Team account at work. Browser workaround works but not ideal.
+1 for this feature!
+1
Also, the ability to make each of your accounts have a different background color (like Chrome profiles) would help prevent accidentally prompting the business account for personal and vice versa
+1 for this. Would be very helpful
Why is @jnovack spamming everyone with 👎?
This is a highly desirable feature. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!
This is a much-needed feature. Especially for users who are very actively using both. I thought this would be already there.
+1, it's almost unusable in productive way if you want to use Claude subscriptions on private and business email
Yeah this is annoying

I use Claude Code daily with two accounts — one for work and one for personal projects. On desktop I managed to work around this using CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR, but on mobile it's a real pain.
Every time I switch contexts I have to fully log out and log back in on the mobile app. This breaks the Remote Control workflow completely when you're moving between work and personal sessions from your phone.
What I'd love to see:
This is a pretty common use case — freelancers, contractors, and anyone with a personal + work subscription hits this every day. The desktop has workarounds but mobile has nothing. Would make a huge difference.

An important feature for me is remote control. I use Max for personal purposes and the Pro plan through my organization, but the fact that I can’t conveniently use remote control on my phone makes me not want to use Claude on mobile at all.
NEED THIS
This has become a MUST HAVE ever since the ability to control coding sessions on your phone became possible. Bluntly, it's irritating that both Anthropic and OpenAI have both not implemented this yet. However, I will immediately switch to exclusive use of whichever vendor implements this first. It's _that_ irritating to try to constantly log in/out of multiple accounts within an iOS app instead of just switching tenants.
That is what I need.
+1 please do this! It's the fastest path to increasing paid subscriptions from active users.
+1
+1 Please please please add this feature. I too use a paid personal and work account and this would make my life so much easier!

+1 We really need this.

We need this!
We really need this please
Yes, I need to be able to control
/rcsessions from my personal plan and my work account's subscription seat on my device (different email addresses).Better yet, I would see the coding sessions layered into the same list (in the Code tab) but separated by account and not even have to switch accounts to see them.
Or; scanning the QR code from
/rcin claude code should simply add the session into my Claude mobile app regardless of the account it belongs to.The sign-out/sign-in cycle on mobile is a real workflow killer. We took a fundamentally different approach with Super Intern — instead of a separate app with account switching, the AI lives directly inside your existing chat apps (WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram).
One conversation thread = one persistent context. No login, no switching, always available. The memory layer keeps your contacts and open threads organized across sessions automatically.
Part of the Super Intern team — happy to share a free invite if you want to try a mobile AI workflow without the context-switching pain.
Yes please! Literally googled for this today. Would save me a lot of time if I could sign into both simultaneously.
I literally need this.
Need it!!
Crazy in need of this, it's giga annoying having to log out between accounts, like 10 to 15 times a day...
I will add to this - once an account switcher is available, it will need a simple heuristic to know immediately at a glance which account your are signed in to. A combination of prominent profile picture/avatar (ideally customizable and not just 'shuffle-able') and/or distinct color and patterns in the background or UI would help a user ensure "I'm in my professional corporate account right now, but I'm about to ask a question about a personal project with the wrong token pool and context infra. I'd better switch over to my personal before I get started."
Please add this. I need to see/control ongoing sessions from both personal and work accounts

+1, adding a slightly different flavor of this pain.
I run a personal account and my work (Elastic) enterprise account and need to switch between them constantly. Because the iOS app is single-account, I've stopped using it entirely and pinned
claude.ai/codeas a home-screen bookmark instead — so I get the same account switcher the desktop web has.Extra wrinkle: I've also been locked out of the enterprise account on the native iOS app for ~3 weeks due to an Okta/SSO issue, which forced me onto the web full-time and made this even more visible. Even without that, the single-account limit alone would push me to the web.
The knock-on cost isn't just the sign-out/sign-in dance — it pushes a chunk of us onto the mobile web app, which then has its own paper cuts (e.g. #76896: iOS input auto-zoom + sticky
:hover). Fixing multi-account natively would remove the reason a bunch of us are on the web in the first place.+1 on android
