How to change the model used by Claude Code CLI

Is there a way to specify which Claude model to use when running Claude Code from the terminal? For example, can I set an environment variable or pass a flag to use claude-3-opus-20240229 vs claude-3-5-sonnet-20241022?
If this isn't currently supported, could it be added as a feature?
