Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

The key points worth mentioning:

  • Windows users need bash (Git for Windows) and jq installed and on bash's PATH (not just Windows PATH)
  • There's no documentation or warning when the status line silently fails
  • A Windows-native status line command (e.g. PowerShell) would avoid the dependency entirely
