[BUG] Auto mode not triggered after plan mode, even though suggested by Claude Code

Resolved 💬 5 comments Opened Apr 17, 2026 by mathiaswillburger Closed Apr 20, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When switching to plan mode for implementation, Claude Code offers several options at the end, including entering auto mode to carry out the implementation. However, auto mode never actually starts, and the process just continues with the usual approval steps. On top of that, Auto Mode can’t be toggled in this situation.

What Should Happen?

Claude Code should enter auto mode as suggested and allow also toggling auto mode on and off, same as the other options.
