Remote Control: excessive empty space above messages on tall mobile displays

Resolved 💬 4 comments Opened Mar 9, 2026 by darcydubuc Closed Apr 6, 2026

Description

On the Remote Control mobile session view, conversation messages are bottom-anchored with a large amount of dead/empty space above them. On tall-aspect-ratio phones, most of the screen is unused white space with the actual conversation content pushed to the very bottom.

Device

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (1440x3120, 19.5:9 aspect ratio)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start a Claude Code session on desktop
  2. Connect via Remote Control on a Samsung S24 Ultra
  3. Send a message and receive a response
  4. Observe that the response sits at the very bottom of the screen with ~70% empty space above

Expected behavior

Messages should be positioned more centrally or the view should scroll to minimize dead space, similar to standard chat app UX on tall displays.

Screenshot

The conversation bubble appears at the very bottom of the screen with the entire upper portion empty.
