[BUG] Extension is active in logs, but no UI or commands appear

Hello,

I am experiencing a persistent issue where the Claude extension appears to be active but shows no UI elements.

System Information:

Problem Description:
After installing the extension, the side-bar icon does not appear, and the Command Palette only shows the "Claude Code: Insert At-Mentioned" command. None of the main commands like "Start new chat" or "Log In" are available.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
I have tried the following steps without success:

1. Restarting VS Code multiple times.
2. Reinstalling the extension.
3. Disabling all other AI-related extensions (like GitHub Copilot).
4. A full manual deletion of extension files from ~/.vscode/extensions and extension storage from ~/Library/Application Support/Code/User/globalStorage (on macOS) / %APPDATA%\Code\User\globalStorage (on Windows), followed by a clean reinstall.
