What's Wrong?

Title:
VM process running at 400% CPU causing system freezes

Body:
MacBook Pro M4 Pro, 24GB RAM, macOS

The com.apple.Virtualization.VirtualMachine process (Claude's built-in VM sandbox)
consistently runs at ~400% CPU, causing the laptop to freeze ~6 times per day.

Process details:

  • PID accumulates 60+ minutes of CPU time
  • Located at: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/vm_bundles/claudevm.bundle/
  • Quitting and relaunching Claude temporarily fixes it

Expected behavior: VM should not peg 4 CPU cores continuously in the background.
