Userstory: I am typing a long prompt, and realise midway that I need the extra intelligence of Opus, unfortunately I currently have sonnet selected. This is annoying to deal with and would be a huge UX improvement to let me change between the model(modes) via a hotkey or similar

I experience the same issue.
Yes! That would be so incredibly helpful.
I came here because of this problem too. It's essential to be able to change models in the middle of writing prompts.
Would love to have this as well!

Any workaround for a keyboard shortcut to change the model? The ability to change the model from a hook could also work (e.g. add -s or -o to the end of the prompt, the hook could detect it and change the model for that message for you).
I am also interested in this feature.
@ghodss that's an interesting idea, did you get it to work?
