Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When I install claude desktop on my Intel machine, the program runs but I noticed that both \appdata\local\anthropicclaude and \appdata\roaming\claude are missing. I can use claude but cannot get mcp servers installed. No logs available for debugging. Manualy creating both folders an creating a claude_desktop_config.json file is not working.
I moved to my intel machine because on my ARM machine I also have the UI not opening bug.

What Should Happen?

I expect that both folders are created and I can edit the claude_desktop_config file for defining mcp servers. This worked
