Preflight Checklist

- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
This is concerning https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/1278 and related issues closed as not planned.
Claude code cli sneakily installs itself if I run from the vscode integrated terminal. There seems to be no way to disable this behaviour.
I think this is a grave user consent issue and should never happen anywhere.
What Should Happen?
Claude shouldn't ever self install a vscode extension without user consent.
