[Bug] Claude Desktop and Web apps not working after Sonnet 4.6 update

Description

After the latest update (coinciding with the Sonnet 4.6 release), both the Claude Desktop app and the Claude Web app (claude.ai) are not functioning properly. The apps crash or fail to operate normally.

Environment

• Platform: macOS (Darwin 25.2.0)
• Affected: Claude Desktop app + claude.ai web interface
• When started: After Sonnet 4.6 release (Feb 2026)

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open Claude Desktop app (or claude.ai in browser)
2. App loads the home screen but crashes or does not respond to prompts

Expected Behavior

Claude Desktop and Web should load and respond to prompts normally.

Actual Behavior

Both desktop and web apps are crashing / non-functional after the update. The desktop app shows the home screen ("Let's knock something off your list") but fails to work properly.
