Cowork tab not appearing on Windows

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Cowork tab doesn't show up in Claude Desktop on Windows. Only Chat is visible. I'm on Max plan with Opus 4.6, latest app version, cache cleared, reinstalled fresh.
Log (%APPDATA%\Claude\logs\cowork_vm_node.log) repeats:
yukonSilver not supported (status=unsupported), checking for stale bundle...
[startVM] VM not supported (win32/x64), skipping
Hyper-V and virtualization features are enabled. VM loads successfully but never boots. No fix found — matches GitHub issues #25136, #25142, #25205.

What Should Happen?

Cowork tab should appear next to "Chat" and the VM should boot successfully on win32/x64.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install the latest Claude Desktop from claude.com/download on Windows 11 x64
  2. Log in with a Max subscription account
  3. Confirm Hyper-V / Virtual Machine Platform / Windows Hypervisor Platform are enabled in Windows Features

Launch Claude Desktop

  1. Observe: only "Chat" tab is visible — no "Cowork" tab appears
  2. Check %APPDATA%\Claude\logs\cowork_vm_node.log — log shows repeated yukonSilver not supported (status=unsupported) and [startVM] VM not supported (win32/x64), skipping
  3. Quit and relaunch the app — same result
  4. Clear cache, reinstall from scratch — same result
