Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

On Windows, clicking the Claude Desktop taskbar icon always opens the quick entry (single-line input popup) instead of the full application window. There is currently no setting to change this behavior.

macOS users can disable quick entry shortcuts via Settings > General > Desktop App, but Windows users only have the option to customize the keyboard shortcut - not the taskbar click behavior.

Proposed Solution

Add a setting in Windows that allows users to choose what happens when clicking the taskbar icon:

  • Option 1: Open quick entry (current default behavior)
  • Option 2: Open/focus the full Claude Desktop window

This would provide feature parity with macOS.
