## Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

After updating Claude Code to the latest version (v2.1.27), the application consistently freezes when sending the first prompt/message. The freeze occurs immediately after the update and affects the initial interaction with the AI.

System Information

  • Claude Code Version: v2.1.27
  • Operating System: macOS
  • Shell: zsh 5.9
  • Installation Method: (Please specify how you installed Claude Code)

What Should Happen?

The application should respond normally to the first prompt without freezing, allowing for seamless interaction with the AI assistant.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Update Claude Code to version v2.1.27
  2. Launch the application
  3. Send any first prompt/message
  4. Application freezes and becomes unresponsive

Additional Context

  • The issue started occurring specifically after updating through two recent versions
  • Activity Monitor shows multiple Claude processes running with high CPU usage (99.6%, 99.2%, 0.2%)
  • The freeze appears to be consistent and reproducible on the first interaction after the update
  • Previous versions worked without this issue
