The Claude Code interface occasionally renders text with corrupted or garbled fonts, making the content unreadable. The characters appear as random symbols resembling Matrix or Star Trek-style glyphs.
Environment
- macOS (Darwin 25.3.0)
- VS Code with Claude Code extension
- Terminal: zsh
Steps to reproduce
- Appears to happen randomly during normal use
- Interface text becomes unreadable with strange character encoding
Expected behavior
Text should render in standard monospace font consistently.
Actual behavior
Text randomly changes to unrecognizable symbols/glyphs across the entire interface.
Screenshot
See attached screenshot showing the garbled text rendering.
