[BUG] WebSearch tool results not visible in transcript (Ctrl+O)
Resolved 💬 2 comments Opened Jan 13, 2026 by Leksat Closed Feb 27, 2026
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
WebSearch tool results are hidden from users. Unlike other tools (Bash, etc.), WebSearch doesn't show what it returned to Claude - even in transcript view (Ctrl+O).
Can't see which URLs, titles, or snippets were fed to Claude, making it impossible to verify sources or understand reasoning.
What Should Happen?
WebSearch results should appear in Ctrl+O transcript like other tool outputs, showing:
- Query used (already there)
- URLs returned
- Titles/snippets
