[Bug] `claude -r` chat navigation loops between two chats when using arrow keys

Resolved 💬 2 comments Opened Jan 7, 2026 by Ekzime Closed Jan 7, 2026

Description

When using claude -r to resume a previous conversation and navigating through the chat list with arrow keys, the navigation gets stuck in a loop between two chats after scrolling past 4-5 items.

## Steps to Reproduce

  1. Run claude -r to open the resume chat picker
  2. Use the up/down arrow keys to navigate through the chat list
  3. Scroll down past 4-5 chats
  4. Observe the arrow key navigation starts looping between only two chats

## Actual Behavior

After navigating to approximately the 4th-5th chat in the list, the up/down arrows begin cycling between only two chats instead of continuing through the full list.

## Reproducibility

Consistent - the issue occurs every time I attempt this.

## Environment

  • OS: Linux 6.17.0-8-generic
  • Claude Code Version: [run claude --version and paste here]
  • GNOME Terminal
