[BUG /compact output not available in --continue after exiting (ctrl-c)

Question

**Bug Description**
It said "Context left until auto-compact: 14%" so I did `/compact` which completed. I saw that there was an update available so I quit (^C^C) and then did `claude --continue`. But when claude loaded it once again showed "Context left until auto-compact: 14%" as if I hadn't performed the `/compact`.
