[BUG] On VSCode extension, pressing the Esc or the stop button is ignored most of the time.

What's Wrong?

When i press Esc or Stop button, the model just ignores it ande keeps processing. sometimes its done 5 or 6 more steps and a minute later before it stops. It seems to also not be injecting new messages from me until the end of whatever its doing which means its doing stuff i don't want it to do.

I see changes from 2.0.41 which suggest that something was changed in the Esc behaviour so maybe this is a side effect from that

What Should Happen?

Claude should stop what its doing and read the new instructions
