What's Wrong?
I questioned Claude and got this reply
Question, when you give me options i.e. 1 yes... 2 yes everytime... etc and 3 No tell claude to do
something else, option 3 isn't selectable but is shown
Response from Claude:
● You're right - that's a known UI issue with Claude Code's permission prompts. Option 3 ("Tell
Claude what to do differently") is displayed but the selection only cycles through options 1 and
2.
To work around this:
- Press Esc to exit the prompt entirely, then type your alternative instructions directly
- Or select option 1/2 and then provide different instructions in your next message

Have you realized you can write a text in option 3... I was desperate until I accidentally figured out. It is true that this change has not been well explained and there is a problem with the length of the text you can write
Great point, i had not but will use this feature in the future. Its odd that Claude didn't suggest this as a solution.. maybe a comment like "type here..." would have been useful ..... Thanks once gain for the help... i know how you felt before finding this solution
