[BUG] [BUG] Claude spam repeating itself after terminal goes through size changed (opening source directory, terminal column, etc.)

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Nov 5, 2025 by omarabujafar Closed Nov 8, 2025

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When I run Claude in say a "wide" terminal, but then need to quickly re-open the source directory or switch terminals, it begins to bug out. It starts to repeat itself over and over. When then typing a new prompt it starts spamming the lines used to outline the prompt area, flooding the space and making it hard to read or keep track.

What Should Happen?

The terminal should be able to handle sudden/dynamic width changes to its terminal, ensuring that it does not suddenly begin to bug out and spam the same message multiple times.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Run Claude in a fresh terminal.
  2. May vary, but from there try to open the source directory/adjust the width of the column. If it does not cause the issue, attempt to write a prompt to Claude then try again.
  3. Close/reduce the size of the column you opened (Source directory for example).
