[BUG] Claude.ai completely down. Cannot access Claude code or website: Rate exceeded

i am also experiencing same problems last 20 minutes. login not happening, claude silently breaks with Rate exceeded warning on browser.

I literally just signed up to Claude and tried to login for the first time. Installed through npm and then could not login. Getting OAuth operation failed error. Removed everything and installed via Homebrew with the same results. First impressions are obviously pretty low! At least I can see it's more of a general outage though.

Consistently happens regardless of using claude code with personal chat account, console account with api credits... Nothing can authorize currently for me. Internal server error from /v1/oauth/{id}/authorize, consistent with other reports:

Claude code login still down

Yes, the chat in the browser works, but it is still impossible to log in to the claude code.

https://status.claude.com/ says a fix was implemented at 10:23 UTC but I'm still unable to log in to claude code

I was able to /login by using a different (or private) browser where i wasn't yet logged in to anthropic.com

Works for me now. I didn't do anything different so hopefully solved for everyone.

Down for me, very slow, eating tokens like crazy, occasionally answers.

Happened to me as well, however claude code CLI works normally. Perhaps its related to claude code on the web promo extensive usage.
