What's Wrong?

Title: Routines section disappeared from the Code tab sidebar after 2026-10-14 update

Environment: Claude desktop app, Code tab, Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26200, model Fable 5.1.

Until 2026-10-14 the sidebar's session list showed a Routines section listing my scheduled tasks and their runs, between Pinned and my custom groups. Since 2026-10-15 that section is gone.

What I checked:

  • All 7 scheduled tasks still exist and fire on time (confirmed via the Scheduled page and the scheduled-tasks tools). This is a display issue only.
  • The app's sidebar API reports the built-in "routines" section as shown: false, collapsed: true, session_count: 0.
  • The "Edit sidebar" dialog (Projects / Artifacts / Scheduled / Dispatch / Customize) has no Routines entry.
  • The "+" context menu (New session / New section / New environment / Select all / Collapse all / Expand all) has no show/hide option for built-in sections.
  • The Scheduled page and the More menu have no "show in sidebar" option either.

I never turned the section off. There is no user-facing control to turn it back on.

Expected: the Routines section is visible in the sidebar as before, or a toggle for it exists in Edit sidebar.
Actual: the section is hidden with no way to restore it.

What Should Happen?

The Routines section should appear in the Code tab sidebar's session list, between Pinned and my custom groups, exactly as it did through 2026-10-14. It should list my scheduled tasks (7 of them, 4 recurring) with each task's recent runs underneath, so I can open a run's session or see its last status without leaving the sidebar.

If the section can be hidden, the "Edit sidebar" dialog should include a Routines checkbox alongside Projects / Artifacts / Scheduled / Dispatch / Customize so a user can turn it back on. Right now the app reports the section as shown: false, but there is no control anywhere in the UI that sets it, and I never turned it off.

Error Messages/Logs

No error message. The app's sidebar API reports the built-in "routines" section as:
{ "id": "routines", "kind": "routines", "session_count": 0, "collapsed": true, "shown": false }

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open the Claude desktop app on Windows and switch to the Code tab.
  2. Have one or more scheduled tasks defined (I have 7: 4 recurring, 3 completed one-time). Confirm they exist via the "Scheduled" entry at the top of the sidebar.
  3. Look at the session list in the left sidebar, below Pinned and above custom groups.
  4. Observe: there is no Routines section listing the scheduled tasks and their runs. Through 2026-10-14 this section was present.
  5. Open the "Edit sidebar" dialog (the "Customize" entry). It lists only Projects / Artifacts / Scheduled / Dispatch / Customize. There is no Routines entry to tick.
  6. Right-click the "+" next to a section. The menu offers New session / New section / New environment / Select all / Collapse all / Expand all. No show/hide option for built-in sections.
  7. Open the Scheduled page and the "More" entry. Neither has a "show in sidebar" option.
  8. Result: the Routines section is hidden with no user-facing control to restore it. I never turned it off.

Is this a regression?

Yes, this worked in a previous version

Last Working Version

Worked on 2026-10-14. Stopped after the app update that landed overnight into 2026-10-15. Current desktop app build is 2.37337.1, so the last working build was the one immediately before that.

Additional Information

  • The scheduled tasks themselves are unaffected. All four recurring tasks fired on time on 2026-10-15 and the Scheduled page lists them normally. This is a sidebar display regression only.
  • My sidebar uses the sections layout with three custom groups (Elp and 444 / 922 Dragon / SteakSandwichHub) plus Pinned and Recents. Those all still render; only the built-in Routines section is missing.
  • Claude in the session confirmed via the ccd_sidebar list_sections tool that the section exists but is flagged shown: false. The set_view tool cannot change that flag, and no UI control sets it.
  • Screenshots attached: (1) the "+" context menu, (2) the Edit sidebar dialog with no Routines entry.
