[Bug] Auto mode blocks file writes and accept-edits mode prompts for every edit after update

Bug Description
After an update to the claude CLI in the last couple of days I am finding that auto mode is not being allowed to write to files. Since auto mode doesn't ask for permissions, it finishes a task and reports "I wasn't able to write these files". If instead I try accept-edits mode, then, despite the name of the mode, I have to manually agree to every edit. Seems like the last update introduced these issues on these 2 modes
