What's wrong

On the new-session screen with a Remote Control environment selected, typing / shows no slash-command / skill autocomplete at all — neither project skills nor personal skills. Inside a session that is already running, autocomplete works fine. This worked on the new-session screen before a recent update.

Related but different: #28764 (closed as not planned — autocomplete missing everywhere in Remote Control). Today autocomplete works inside running sessions; only the new-session screen is missing it.

Setup

  • Claude Code 2.1.300 on macOS, running claude remote-control from a project folder.
  • Sessions are started from the Claude app on another Mac, choosing that Remote Control environment.
  • The project has skills in <repo>/.claude/skills/; there is also a personal skill in ~/.claude/skills/.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Run claude remote-control in a project folder that has skills in .claude/skills/.
  2. In the Claude app, open a new session and choose that Remote Control environment.
  3. Type / plus the prefix of a project skill → no list.
  4. Type / plus the prefix of a personal skill → no list.
  5. Type the full skill name and press Enter → the session starts and the skill runs correctly.
  6. In that now-running session, type the same prefix → the autocomplete list appears.

Expected

The new-session screen offers the same slash-command / skill autocomplete as a running session, as it did before the update.

Impact

Users have to remember and type exact skill names to start each session; the picker is missing exactly on the screen where a session is started.
