Bug Description
Manual compact still fails, only auto-compact works.

Environment Info

  • Platform: darwin
  • Terminal: ghostty
  • Version: 2.0.22
  • Feedback ID: ae360273-1c98-4e28-9f82-15ad0d378026

Error: Error during compaction: Error: Conversation too long. Press esc twice to go up a few messages and try again.

This message always occurs for me, regardless of conversion length yet when auto compact runs it all works fine. This hasn't worked for me since the versions before 2.0. I had previously used this frequently to compact when the conversation was at a more natural clean stopping point.

I also keep on getting this. Instead of compacting manually, I have to continue the session until it compacts automatically.

I keep getting this too it's terribly annoying; have to kill and resume session to compact. Auto compact does not work fo rme

yep same crap here too, but hey lets release a load of features and add new bugs too instead of fixing things that matter
