[BUG] Desktop app (Windows): Ctrl+Alt shortcuts don't work with Turkish Q keyboard layout (work on English US)
Description
In the Claude desktop app (Code tab) on Windows, keyboard shortcuts that include Ctrl+Alt do not work when the keyboard layout is Turkish Q (tr-TR). The same shortcuts work as soon as the layout is switched to English (US).
The shortcut list displays the shortcut with the layout-translated character (e.g. Ctrl+Alt+Ç for "open new session in split view on the right"), but pressing that combination does nothing. With the English (US) layout the same action works with Ctrl+Alt+\.
Steps to reproduce
- Windows 11, keyboard layout set to Turkish Q (
tr-TR). - Open the Claude desktop app, Code tab.
- Look up the shortcut for "new session in split view (right)". It is shown as
Ctrl+Alt+Ç. - Press
Ctrl+Alt+Ç.
Expected
The split view opens, as it does with Ctrl+Alt+\ on the English (US) layout.
Actual
Nothing happens. Switching the layout to English (US) and pressing Ctrl+Alt+\ works.
Likely cause
On Windows, AltGr is reported as Ctrl+Alt. Turkish Q has an AltGr layer (@, €, {, [, ...), so Ctrl+Alt+<key> is treated as an AltGr character instead of a shortcut. The label is translated to the current layout (Ç), but the matching does not succeed. Matching on the physical key (event.code) rather than the produced character, or exposing rebindable shortcuts, would avoid this.

Environment
- Claude desktop app (MSIX) version: 2.37337.1.0
- OS: Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26300
- Keyboard layout: Turkish Q (
tr-TR); works on English (US) - Workaround: switch layout to English (US) before pressing the shortcut, or use the sidebar session right-click menu → Open in → Split view
