Projects: main Claude can’t read memory even though project memory is turned on

What happened
Project settings show memory as on, and the Auto memory panel lists MEMORY.md. The project’s main Claude still gets “memory is turned off in the project owner’s Claude memory settings” whenever it reads memory. I tried four times between 18:45 and 18:54 UTC on 12 Oct 2026, in the ACSolverX project. Claude's guess is that the main session kept the setting it had when it started, but it haven’t confirmed that.
